TO OUR COMMUNITY:

At the Deutsch Foundation, we take seriously our shared concerns regarding the coronavirus (Covid-19) and the potential dangers facing our families, neighbors and the city at large.

We are working remotely and following best practices of social distancing while this crisis lasts. Our offices are closed but we remain accessible via telephone, email and video.

We are in conversation with philanthropic partners and current and past grantees to better understand the ways that COVID-19 is impacting their work.

Like all foundations, our endowment is down significantly due to dramatic declines in the market. Please be assured, however, that we have sufficient funds to fulfill all of our grant commitments for 2020. In addition to honoring existing commitments, we are also considering how best to respond directly to the pressing needs of our grantees and other community-based organizations and individuals.

Current grant recipients should contact us via email to discuss concerns about existing commitments, the timing of payments, or special circumstances that may arise due to the pandemic that is now upon us.

Most of our grantees serve the most vulnerable residents of our city, or work in neighborhoods that have been denied adequate resources and assistance for decades. The Foundation will give special consideration to new requests that arise due to these circumstances.

From time to time during this health emergency, we will send out updates on the work we are doing as it pertains to our grantees. In the meantime, please stay safe and healthy.
