On Tuesday, September 20th, at 10 am, Open Works hosted an official ribbon cutting ceremony with United States Congressman Elijah Cummings, Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings Blake, Maryland Delegate Maggie McIntosh, and Baltimore Development Corporation President, William Cole IV and members of the public.
This ceremony marks the completion of the remarkable $11,500,000 redevelopment of a historic warehouse into the nation’s sixth largest center for traditional and advanced fabrication technologies.
Located in the Station North Arts & Entertainment District, Open Works provides residents of the metropolitan area with access to a range of digital and analog technologies, 140 micro-studios for small business start-ups and innovative entrepreneurs, and classes designed to grow the area’s pool of talented fabricators, designers, crafts persons, artisans and digital technicians.
